2006 GMC Sierra 4x4. I’ll have a couple things I’ll want to do immediately like: does anyone know how to improve the factory radio reception???

Is that wise? If I were you I would want my car parked as far away as possible from where I sleep!
Nice looking truck!
When I replace my truck I am going to step up to the 4 door. My truck has the rear half doors that you have to open the front doors to open them. Cool concept but in reality a PITA.
Nice truck!!!!
Radio? Like, what? FM?
Get with the times man. Ad-free Pandora or Spotify is far superior in sound quality and content.

And what, just throw away all these cassettes?
Thanks for the compliments guys, all of you. Great to have support from people who “get it”.
Logdog, that meme is actually quite funny!!!
Too soon? Too soon?
So, what’s the cheapest way to have am/fm cd and still connect to my IPhone and have it installed?
I was very happy with my clearance stereo with installation in my Bronco. Can you still do that at a Best Buy type place?
Perhaps I should start a new thread?
I can think of two local examples that fit your needs. On a particularly windy road there is a body shop or mechanic at a big curve in the road. He has two old cars parked closer to the road in an odd combination of positions. As you approach the curve you tend to slow down even more because it looks like you are coming up a recent accident.
Another house on a heavily traveled 2 lane road has what seems like a cop car sitting out front. It is actually a Dodge Durango. It is Navy Blue with white doors. In large letters across the white it says "Bay Township" in big letters.
In no way does it falsely, actually try to be a cop car but as you come around the curve at anything faster than the speed limit, it tends to cause a brake check.

I think Best Buy still has and installs headunits. This would give you am/fm/cd and bluetooth (or aux headphone jack) with most aftermarket units

I like those examples. Creative!
I live in a nice rural neighborhood with cows chickens and horses mixed in with $800,000 homes. As much as I like the faux-accident scene, it wouldn’t fly here.
Is it illegal to install my own traffic light?

I'm not sure this would be wise. It would likely just launch the Accord into your roof.

Given recent history though I feel like causing sudden maneuvers around OP's house might cause more accidents, not fewer. Big rocks might be the answer.

Only if they were installed backwards! The side you see in the photos is the “back;” the other side should face the oncoming vehicles. They definitely don’t launch a car. They dig into the ground and force the vehicle down into the dirt so it comes to a stop pretty fast.
Congrats on the new truck! And yours even has cab corners and rockers, unlike every other one of these trucks in New England. Impressive.
Now, keep it away from gray Honda Accords, and you should be good!
