I have a rarely driven, about 1000 miles a year, 85 Dodge B350 Xplorer Class B. The tires age out before wearing out. It had 16.5 inch rims on it, tires not readily available for them, recently one experienced tread separation, most likely from age.
So I picked up a set of 16 in rims with used tires on them. I am putting the best two on the front. One of the tires that will go on the rear looks like it was the front on the previous vehicle, and shows some outside shoulder wear.
I am looking to get the most out of whats left of the ones going on the rear.
The question is, where on the rear will it see the least outside shoulder wear ?
Thinking about turning from a stop light, right turns will be sharper than lefts, but lefts will be of slightly higher speed. Then there are cloverleaf ramps, they will be definitely harder on the left.
Thoughts ?
