Walked through the Pick n Pull yesterday and came across a rust-free, complete bmw e21 - mediocre respray - but shouldn't be ready for the crusher. Anybody need an injected M10 - just add boosts.
Going back this weekend with the trailer if it doesn't get rained out - I'll grab the engine if it's still there. It's a 4 spd - so not a lot of love there - probably also means an open diff, but I'll take a look. Surely somebody will want an M10. Seems like a great donor to boost the crap out of it and drop it in a 2002. It kinda bugs me to see decent cars in the pnp. Once they're in - they're destined to be crushed.
Yeah, a "Certificate of Destruction" title can't really be changed my any legal means. It is a shame, I wonder why someone scrapped it?
In California at least they dont list the titles as destroyed on most of them (unless it was towed by the city or a few other instances), until the car is gone. Most of the time you can buy one and put it back on the road if you so chose.
In the last year, i've seen cherry (relatively. by "cherry" i mean "in better shape than my current cars") examples of the following in the local self service yards.
Triumph TR7
Porsche 924
BMW 325ix (E30)
1st gen Probe GT Turbo
