I'm putting decals on my Miata showing the tracks where I've run. What side goes up? When looking at a map, north always goes up (my dad and brother have a land surveying company, so they know maps.)
So, north up, or pit road on the horizontal axis?
Given my automotive ADD, I didn't want to do this on a car, so I've started doing it on my helmet. North up.
I'm not sure which way is north for NJMP, but you have to put the sticker on this way:
^^ That looks like a water pump gasket. ^^
The one I have gotten I put on the way they come off of the printer. If you start trying to put them with the north pointed up, they may be all kinds of heights and widths. This is assuming you are getting them from Track Decals or someplace like that.
For some strange reason only known to the mists of time, all track maps of Road Atlanta have South at the top (oldest one in my possession is in the Program for the 1984 SCCA Runoffs). If I had a decal folks would ask me why it's "upside down" if placed properly.
In reply to friedgreencorrado:
Because the South won the war!!!
South up if south of the Mason-Dixon line. North up if north of the Mason-Dixon line. Slightly tilted to the east if the track is run predominately CW, tilted to the west if normally run CCW.
Tracks in Australia should displayed with the turn next to the paddock bar at the top so it can be most quickly found.
And if it is the Nurburgring, well, it just doesn't matter. No one can tell, anyway.
You're welcome!

I disagree, otherwise my t-shirt doesn't make sense.
