If you are including "turbo-style" wheels (ie - no actual aero like the racing ones in the first post), don't forget the 2nd gen TA's "Turbo" wheels:
I have a set on my 81 now, and most likely will be changing them out for a set of much cooler-looking (to me) WS6 snowflakes. It is kinda funny to hear that there are others who really like them.
Go to German eBay and search for gullideckel felgen ("manhole cover wheels") if you want to go down that rabbit hole.
I'm running forged 16x8" Evo I gullis on my 190E. There made by Fuchs. As far as I can tell, they're more aerodynamic than other designs but I don't think they do much at all for brake cooling.

I came here to post these.
They made these in both 15x7 and 15x8. I used to hate them, but now I love them. I'd rock a set as spares on my Trans Am. A set of these on a Grand Prix 2+2 would be really cool.

I bet. I've only seen one in real life(at a crappy low-end used car lot about 16-years ago), and have only seen them mentioned online a few times since then.
Sure, turbo style included. In my case aero is the least of my concerns.
Indeed they are a thing. That is, my image search on the inter webs tells me so.
I was merely thinking out loud- if I could find a cheap set (ha!) would I put them on my car?

I've seen one in person. They're more uncommon than vr4s. Then again, I have 3 of those...
I imagine whatever wheels Ken Block uses are readily available. Even though they're likely more than an entire challenge budget.

They are wicked cheap on DemonTweeks brand new in the UK... I did pick mine up stupid cheap on Craigs just before Christmas a few years back.
