WTF? Has everyone from Kia to Aston Martin has lost their eyesight?
I like it on the Aston, but on the Kia, they went too far. Looks like it's got hands over it's eyes.
Doesn't bug me.
Why? Because all of the current "tall" cars are way uglier. There's no reason a Taurus should be taller than a 2wd Ranger.
Get the cars on the ground first, then we'll talk about front brake vents being ugly.
I drove a GMC Acadia home last night and parked it next to mothers Town and Country... it made the Chrysler look like a subcompact. ISYN.
Now we are going from the smiley grill to the fish mouth. They make that huge opening then block half of it off. Makes no sense. I sometimes wonder if all designers don't work in the same place. Don't even mention the headlights. Huge wheels. WTF ?

The same thing that happened to 14 inch tires that don't suck.

Suck what ?
I saw a car that looked like that Kia yesterday. It was a Saturn with a body kit that had attempted to berkeley a speed bump.
Not wild about it but I've seen a lot worse (a lot of the Nissans and Lincolns). Mostly I like where Kia's design is going, though.

Besides the front end "treatment", I don't understand the fastback sedan style. What's the point, besides cutting into rear seat headroom?
Maybe on that Kia, there's a button on the dash that when pressed, the flaps over the headlights fly open and the car screams "Peek A Boo!" It'll amuse my kids for hours...

This bugs me more than anything else in the automotive world, the high beltlines of cars due to safety regs. I can't stand it. It used to be longer, lower, wider, you didn't sit so much as lounged (I'm thinking of my Eldorados, you got rest sit/lounging in it). With this push to more compact cars they've got to fit people in them so you have to sit bolt upright which means when you're 7' tall you need one helluva high roofline. That gives the perception of space without it really being all that useable/comfortable. I'm reminded of "The Incredibles" when I think of where we're headed:
The Kia is in the middle of the "chubby cheeks" joke. "My mommy says fat people can't smile well. I'll show her!"
It's a trend:
...but I'm not opposed. PV: you have no idea how sexy that Aston is in the flesh. It was like Damn.
