Do you still have a headlight on your driver's side?
I'd like to come down and check this out/lend a hand/help you drink beer if you don't move REALLY fast on this swap. I'll be down there on Monday, but i'm unsure if i'll have time that day. Might be down next weekend as well.
Still have the headlight. Any help/company would be great! Even if you just hang out I like having a "spotter" in case something bad happens. Like a car falling on me. I miss my old gearhead neighbor who knew to look in the garage if he didn't see me for a day.
I'm having a BBQ on the 2nd if any local car people want to stop in and say hi.
I might be down on the 2nd... i think there was talk on 502SS of a meet that weekend? I've gotta work out when i go down there to pick up $2011's secret weapons.
Back from the dead!
Sold my factory LSD diff for $400 to a friend and got his open one as a core. Sold THAT with my axles and driveshaft for $350 so technically my new diff is paid for. Unfortunately I've been out of work for 2 weeks now so that money and the tax refund I was going to use to buy the swap kit is being used for house payments. The good news is I finally got rid of my parts Camaro. This is how it looked right before it went to the junk yard.
After selling off all the parts the complete engine (less the parts I don't need), ECU, and wiring harness cost me $150
Don't know how easy it would be in a Miata but small two seaters and V8 engines have always been a great combo in my book. I've owned two of the them - Sunbeam Tiger and now a Triumph TR8. The TR7/TR8 upgrade should have been done in the first place but the Alpine/Tiger upgrade was always a bit of a compromise.
"Mr. Shelby why don't you put a turbo on that AC Ace, you are going to mess up the handling!"
V-8 in a little car is always a great idea!

I haven't driven either of them, but yesterday I saw 2 nice Ford-powered V8 Miatae. One was a '91 with a worked-over carbureted 306 and the other was a '95 with a fuel injected 5.0. The '91 in particular had tons of spare room under the hood and looked way easier to work on than my '96 SC 1.8.
From experience I can tell you v8 miatas are awesome :D. Our toyota v8 miata is fun, but man having ridden in an ls1 miata there is nothing that compares so far. Good luck on the build can't wait to see results
I love my LS powered 944. Made 372rwhp with a mild cam, shorty headers and an open K&N air filter.
Hopefully you can find some work. E36 M3tty economy. I will continue to live vicariously through you until I get the funds to do a similar swap.
