My sincere condolences to his loved ones, because sudden is tough, but I like to think that at least some of those who slip away in their sleep just decide on some level that they're sick of being sick and it's time to go do something else.

Damn, that hit me right in the feels. Walter was a great guy, on forum and off. Met him at a couple track days. RIP Walter, you will be missed.

Didn't really know him but he definitely seemed to be a big part of this community. RIP Walter.
I just hate thinking about how his handle and avatar and insight won't be seen on a post again. Talk about an optimist, though. Just two weeks ago he posted looking for parts.

Like many others, I never met the man but knew Walter was a well respected contributor since my early days here. Not very good at all w/ words at these kinda times but just to hope that Walter had a life fulfilled w/ the very best of family, friends and goals. Plus one for a complete life w/ any hoonage above and beyond n all that.

Just like Mike, I only knew Walter through this forum. Both seemed to be standup guys. Both lived relatively close by and I regret never meeting either of them.

The service for Walter will be on Saturday 2 pm at St Timothy Anglican church in Swannanoa.
I'll keep looking for any other information.
SWMBO will call the church tomorrow and see if she can find out any other information.
