luxury? hells yes!
GT? Only if GT means "Ghetto Terrific"
I'd rock it in a heartbeat!

When you make money selling cars its actually kind of freeing knowing that you can sell at any time. Still slavery. Going to go test drive a continental gt this afternoon if I can sneak out. 2006 30K miles sub 75K Silver on black interior.
Not only Ghetto Terrific but also CA smog exempt!!
If going that route I would recommend this:
This is a proper Continental
In reply to pete240z:
That is the antithesis to anything remotely resembling comfort. Dually diesels ride like chuck wagons. Actually, ANY 3/4 ton or 1 ton does. He should get a Ford quad cab ecoboost half ton (whatever their fancy shmansy full load model is), and TURN UP DA BOOST!

...So it depreciated by over $100,000 in just five years and 30K miles. Unbelievable! And with no change to the body style, no one on the street will even know that its not brand new.

Actually the 2011 is a different body style, more aggressive but no one will notice the difference. Also this year there is a V8 option coming down the pipe. Might wait a month or two and see if the prices drop a bit more due to the new body style. Depreciation was more like 135K on this specific one.

Also some external design work with friends on small biotechy items. Biggest thing is I never went to school never went into debt, never really had any loans, really never even had a credit card. Just my wife and I no kids, she has a similar background and income. Been working ful time since I was 15, surprised I made it out of HS.
I for one welcome our new insect overlords...

Never driven one, but I have to say, following the internets wisdom, the NSX would not only be more or as exclusive than your other choices, but also more reliable and easier to fix.
I am confident that the Porsche 928 epitomizes the "GT" mindset. Plenty of power, excellent comfort, many miles of cruising, and reasonably reliable if kept up. The GTS is the only one I would consider, but they are holding pretty good value. (If you ever look for one, MAKE SURE it has paperwork. An unkempt 928 can be one of the most expensive things in the universe).
MitchellC wrote: What about the Ford GT? Are those holding their value too well?
140K+ way outside budget.
Looked at the Bentley, its a hell of a car for the money. Power, comfort, lots of build quality. Been doing my research and there are some huge mile cars (150K+) out there still kicking along just fine with minimal maintenance. In fact I have not found a single verifiable motor blow or transmission failure in normal use. Though I am sure there are some out there that I missed. Biggest thing is that everyone says stay away for at least a year and let the prices come down because of the new body style being released.
But.....
The back seats are useless and the navigation and electronics are not up to snuff for what you would expect for the cost though. It drives heavy, very heavy. Also it had the bigger wheels and the quilted leather seats which are hideous. I mean who wants quilted leather seats in a car. They had a flying spur as well which is the 4 door version and its actually a much more usable car, but not exactly a high style GT. It was a year newer as well but around the same price. Going to keep looking will update as I look as stuff.

Wow, a domestic automobile with decent resale value. Nice job, Ford.
It was an instant collectible. Thats what happens when you do things right for once.
Also i suppose by "decent resale" you mean "its worth more now than when it was new". I find that to be an understatement. hehehe
It seems as if no one mentioned the Lexus IS-F yet. Obviously a Corvette could be considered as well. I agree with GTR too.
wearymicrobe wrote: the quilted leather seats which are hideous. I mean who wants quilted leather seats in a car.
Huh, I always liked the quilted leather look.
Ditto that, but I've never actually sat on quilted leather seats.
So the Flying Spur didn't make the short list? It's a hell of a car, but I understand that it's got more of an old man's image. Also, I was shocked to find low-mile Arnages in your price range. Those cars started at a quarter million dollars!
The quilted leather sits alot nicer than it looks. For me, it's ugly as hell. I get the concept, but it's not GT car to me. Same with the Maseratis.
Oh you know, I don't know what these are going for, (and you seem to have the magic touch when it comes to good deals anyhow) But what about the Alfa 8C Competizione? God smiled when that vehicle was created.

The Arnage's break, apparently a lot. Like buy two so that you can always have on in the ship.
The quilted leather is a weird one for me, the center of the seats are done in it which actually looks pretty nice in certain colors. At least online. Its the door panels then rear seats and a few other things that make it look way over the top. Bentley had a big set of really weird interior colors. Its not like black and maybe tan. Its Silver exterior cars with blue leather and red stiching. Or black exterior with olivewood and silver interior. Really have not seen say your traditional coloring in person like red/tan black/black white/tan.
I really like this one though.

In reply to mndsm:
Prices start well over $250,000 and are unlikely to fall quickly because there are only a handful of 8C's in this country.

Tastefully optioned, and a hell of a car for the dough.
Maybe they look better in person but in photos the Bentley just doesn't have much presence. The F01 750 has, to me at least, more of a visual impact, and likely more/better options. They should be starting to come off lease now. If you want more exclusive, the Alpina version might be able to be found.

This, and for this budget, they're small. Get two!
Or.... get an NSX and a MKiv Supra?
I consider the MKiv Supra a GT car. Very comfy, very fast, very reliable.
