Mazda B2200
Alfa Milano Peugeot 505 Turbo Volvo 740 Turbo Merkur XR4ti
I guess my definition of sporty is different than that of the average bear.
z31 and z32 300zx but a z32 would definitely not run for $800 though. Miata is always the answer here but either a FB or FC RX7 can't lose! Older rwd toyotas like the AE86, cressida, corolla, celica, mr2, or supra. More heavy options are mustangs, xr4ti, or camaros. That's all I'd probably consider but a 3,500 weight limit opens up a lot of doors that I don't want.
Yeah, a Milano would fit the requirements. If anyone wants one, Im done with mine, as soon as I finish swapping the motor mounts its for sale.
See a B2200 is pretty easy to find in the $800 range in non-junk status. Meanwhile an $800 FC RX7? Sounds scary. Z32? SCARY. You get the idea.
Most $800 cars are scary. It's the nature of the beast.
Alex, if you're bragging that Nissans weigh 3500 lbs or less and can be bought for $800 in non-running condition - well, there are a lot of cars in that club. Some weigh a thousand pounds less easily. Not sure what the meaning of your post was, but I'm sorry every one of us misunderstood it.
My Dodge Dart would fit the original criteria too - it was a $500 car to start with, and weighs well under 3000 lbs.
Yah know, if it doesn't need to run, then it doesn't need a motor, and damn near anything short of a Caddy will fit in that range..... and even Cadillacs are fun. Just depends on your definition of fun.
Keith- I was just seeing what else was out there, and I just threw out some random numbers.
I figured some one would have mentioned SC300's, as my friend has a SC400 and hes selling it for like $1400. I think its extremely cheap, but it has 220K and its not perfect. So maybe a blown motor one could be had for a grand or under.
I don't think 3500lbs is light, but I was thinking of larger cars in the 4000lb range that I don't want to touch.
My 240 is in the 2500lb range, and thats about what I want to be at.
I should just buckle down and build a 7 already...Ive been really wanting too for a year or two now.

My 81Corolla weighs in at 2460lbs. with an old school small block chevy, with a cage...and it is a 4 door. I ended up setting the motor back a bit and it weighed 1380lbs in the front and 1240 in the rear. Any mildly built motor will scream in a 2500lb car!
