Damn my Dreamcast is starting to yellow. I'm jealous.
I have a small collection of microbrand dive watches from Halios (or pretty much every model produced by them...)
I try not to collect other stuff after falling off the deep end with Magic the Gathering in the 90's.
Just yesterday I got rid of fifteen years worth of GRM magazines and at least double that many of various other types of automotive magazines. I still have a few hot wheels but that's about it. Don't think I'm going to be collecting anything else. Rather spend that money on doing stuff.

I collect scars, stories, and people who are genuine. The rest is just stuff.
In reply to The0retical :
Try wiping the yellowed Dream cast with regular Hydrogen Peroxide
I collected Hot Wheels for a number of years but have lost interest. Half heartedly trying to get rid of them
I currently collect stickers from places I like to cover my beer fridge
And I collect Magic the Gathering cards, but just from the first 4 years

If you still have them, they may have been a sound investment!
In reply to John Welsh :
There's a whole method of restoring the color of old, yellowed consoles and computers. It involves creating a chemical concoction called "Retrobright". Check this out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retr0bright
What turns them yellow is a chemical in the plastic that makes the plastic fire retardant. Over time, exposure to UV makes the gray/white plastic turn yellow. People make this paste from beauty salon hydrogen peroxide (the strong stuff) and baking soda or laundry detergent, slather it all over the shell, and leave it out in the sun. It will eventually yellow again, though.
Just came in from the yard, doing spring cleaning. Yup, I'm a junk, junk collector.

Not sure if more than one example of a certain thing meant to be used rather than admired is a collection (stamps, for instance, sit in an album - using them to mail things would kind ofdefeat the purpose)
In any case, I collect:
Fountain Pens
Vintage watches
Clocks
Cars (cutting down, only a half dozen right now)
Wine
Walking sticks
Stereo gear (only because I can't bring myself to sell old favourites) and vinyl
Plants - special interest gardening is an enthusiasm Had 800 different species Rhododendrons (then I moved and am down to around 300)

4th edition through Weatherlight. There's a mix of various earlier stuff like Unlimited and 3rd edition stuff I picked up here and there and some newer stuff (showing some age) like Stronghold and Exodus. I really need to spend some time cataloging them so I can get rid of them.
Ice Age and Mirage were the best expansions according to me.

Nice! I love Visions and Mirage. Flanking? Phasing? Count me in!
I collect/play Alpha up to Visions. Nothing big money except a Chaos Orb bought when they were cheap. The friends I play with have drafted FE, Homelands, Ice Age, and 4th in the past 2 years.

I still have my MtG collection, although generally kept in decks to play. Pretty much Revised up to Homelands and Ice Age. I worked at a comic store that sold them, so I usually only bought what I wanted. A Chaos Orb and a full set of dual lands are probably the most valuable cards in my collection. I enjoyed playing more than going crazy building decks. I bought most of the Championship pre-built decks when I used to play. Those were fun. Granted, I haven't touched any of them in years but compared to a lot of crap I have, the cards don't take up much room.
I'm far worse with bicycles than cars. I've lost count - 15 or 16 frames for sure, most are built up right now. I worked at a bike shop during college and got paid in parts more weeks than I should have. Ate a lot of cheap food but rode a lot of Campagnolo.
I've got a soft spot for 90's bike I wanted but couldn't afford as a kid: Klein, Cannondale. Slowly building a collection. Hard to find stuff that fits - 62 or 63cm for road/track.
I collect old books. I must have a 1000 or so. Some are worth a few hundred dollars but most are just old books on subjects that interest me.
My wife was very unhappy that I moved them all upstairs while the Harvey flood was happening and none got ruined.

what do I collect?
aches and pains since I turned 50
I have 2:
Antique spark plugs. They got wet from a roof leak so I still have to de-rust them.
Ceramic wire nuts. I collected them while working a residential job.
Someday I will have time to display them.
