I kinda miss him. He had a wealth of knowledge, sometimes.... My take is he liked to bait people, then not know when to let up. Amusing to me, as polarizing as he is, and not well received, he has now accumulated 5 pages. Like a train wreck viewer, here I am........

It seems to me that you see people bringing up dementia as an accusation and a negative, when people here who did it point out that they were bringing it up to help.
I get the idea of slapping an accusation of a problem on a person because they are *whatever*, it's not cool to be mean like that.
But when people bring it up to help, or see if there's a way to make things better- that is a cool thing to do. Trying to help mostly a good thing.

Ain't nobody responsible for Frenchy being banned but Frenchy. He'd been warned several times. He'd been documented as being tossed from just about every public forum he'd let himself into. He's old enough to know better. It's not on you to have to police another mans' actions, especially when those actions had gotten him sent to the gallows once already and he'd managed to grow himself another head.
Hmm, that really points to an established pattern of behavior over time more than a recent change. Could there also be a recent "slippage"? Sure, two things can be simultaneously true.
I never engaged with him but I did appreciate his history and some of his recollections.
I did lurk and observe the "clutter" regarding EV's. One thing the internet has taught me across all forums: stay out of the EV threads. Even though they are about EV's, they are never about EV's after page 2.
It's like the movie Jackie Brown, when Samuel Jackson explained to Robert De Niro about a third character named Melanie (played by Bridget Fonda): "you can't trust Melanie, but you can always trust Melanie to be Melanie."
Just insert the phrase "an EV thread" where the name "Melanie" appears.

Good luck to Frenchyd and everyone today.

I didn't participate much in his threads, figuring that anything I said wouldn't alter the trajectory of what had become a monster. That said, I absolutely agree about correcting completely wrong statements, else future readers might view the information as the right way to do things.
I was once in a flamefest where someone posted a pic of his Locost's rear suspension. He had a very short lower A-arm, and a very long upper A-arm - exactly opposite proper design. It meant that when cornering, the tire assumes a positive camber, likely sending him spinning into a ditch backwards. I said so because future Locost builders might read his thread, thinking that his design as the right way to do it - because no one said otherwise. Well, no. I was immediately set upon as being negative, raining on his parade, and he even played the victim, "I came to share and this is what I get?"
Some months after getting the car running, he spun off into a ditch backwards. He was arrogant and hard-headed enough to write, "I guess this will make someone happy!" Just. Wow. So yeah, bad info needs to be called out, if for no other reason than to make future readers aware that additional research is needed - and to keep people safe.

Was it a Honda powered McLaren can am replica, or is it just another example of the bad suspension design playing out?
I've gotten that treatment too. Facts are fluid and alternative ideas should carry equal weight regardless of supporting information... Right...

Haha, why yes indeed it was. Does he still have the car? I finally grew through my flame-festing phase, realizing that I wasn't going to convince anyone of anything, and moved on.

yes because herpes and dementia are so alike. You really do like to find ways that people are terrible in your mind.
The funny thing is a recent study found that untreated HSV shows an increased risk of dementia. You can rationalize it all you want, when you have the avenue to do it in private and you chose to do it in public, its E36 M3ty. Im sure there are things about yourself you'd prefer not be shared or accusations you wouldnt want hurled at you on a public forum, think about that before you do it to others
bring it. Seriously. I have nothing to hide anymore. Never "blasted" the man, but was seeing a concerning trend in the last 6 months. "see something say something" I guess is only fine for things you don't like?
