racerdave600: Thanks for the nice discussion! I will be sure to have an inspection once it all is installed.

So, FIA is a good thing to have on the seat. I am still after the simple solution for mounting these seats will little car hacking. Has anyone here used the Corbeau Miata seat mounting with a Cobra (Imola S) seat?

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but how much lower is the memoryfab seat than the stock seat?

My w.a.g. is about 1.5". I didn't measure, because I'm short enough that it wasn't an issue.

The bottom pad is removable, so if you're close with a helmet you could likely gain another inch or so for competition. (Kevlar is way less comfy than memory foam, though, so I wouldn't recommend it as an everyday solution.)

Did you use their low brackets or the super low ones?

I'm using the super lows, and I'm very happy with them. I slide the seat every time I get in or out of the car, so the slider mechanism is seeing lots of use with no problems so far.

Tom do you run the dual locking slider setup or their single locking rail?

Just to make a post as to my Miata seat progress, Cobra Imola S seats will not fit in my 97 Miata. I found a guy up in Michigan who sold Cobra seats. I told him I needed sliding mounts and he went off to design sliding mounts for the Cobra seats in a Miata. The problem turned out that the Cobra Imola S seats have a large "wing" near the head of the seat. This "wing" will stick out of the car - can not close the door if the window is up. The guy who worked on this is:

Jim Huston Motorsports Seats & Accessories 8058 Kentucky Avenue South Bloomington, MN. 55438-1248 (952) 944-2381 http://www.MotorSportSeats.com

Great guy to work with.

So I am back to searching for another seat.
