Assuming a kit car of some sort. Anyone have any idea what it is based on? Ingress/Egress looks to be a bit daunting for the non-athletic driver.

I call it "please cut the top off that thing entirely, make a speedster out of it, and put in the effort because it'll be much much nicer when you're done".
It's got similar proportions but if that's a modified J-4r in the OP they changed almost every body line.

No front wheel gap, 4Runner rear wheel gap.
Otherwise it would look pretty cool.
An unmodified Kellison has some value. The one that looks like a large flat weight dropped on it, not so much. An unbutchered one is only 39" tall (my Jamaican is so low you need an almost fully laid back driver's position and it is 44" high). That one, with the tiny side windows, looks like something that a passel of small people would drive around the ring at a circus.
I know that kit cars attract people with artistic imaginations, but exercising those sensibilities on such cars has significantly reduced the numbers of surviving originals.

It sure seems that way. There are clear similarities but there are many clear differences as well.

Could be a butchered J-1 I suppose

Thank you. I like the unmolested version better.
It looks like it's even harder to get into and out of, however.
