So close and yet so far...1.6mm

I'm not sure if it's a good price, but 4x101.6 means it doesn't matter:

You could possibly use those with wobble bolts. My son ran some of my 4x100 wheels on his Fiat, which has a 4x98 pattern. Did it for s few years with no issues. And, while those tires look new, I'd want to know the manufacturing date. If they're old the asking price justifies buying new RBs at $800/set..

In reply to DeadSkunk (Warren) :

I was trying to see if the photos showed the date code, but on the phone screen couldn't zoom in enough to read it clearly.

Wobble bolts look interesting, and I can see how they should work fine as long as the hub fits properly to center the wheel.

I'll keep watching for good deals on market place until the end of March, and the. Pull the trigger on new if I don't find anything used.

edit: looks like those tires may have been out of production for over 10 years. I think I'll reach out to get the date code and maybe make a lowball offer based on the tire age. Any preferred suppliers for wobble bolts?

My son bought his on Ebay. No idea what the brand was, but if you look you'll find a lot of variation in prices. At the higher end , you'll spend enough to consider buying wheels that don't need them.

So after searching and sending out emails to find out availability, it looks like white RBs are not an option. They seller that had them in their page would take 3-4 month to get them.

The panasport seller hasn't replied when I asked about date codes for the tires, so I think that's a dead end.

Im also waiting to hear back for TR if they can get the Empi performance compe in white, or 16" space terra with red lettering (although I understand they are stickers so removable to get rid of the blue)

That leaves me with the following choices I'm considering:

Rota F500 (wonder about durability at less than 13 lbs), Sparco Terra, and a couple RBs (the last RB is hyperblack, so more black chrome than black)

Alright, I've been going back and forth, between budget friendly and what I want.

If I didn't have to deal with TPMS and the programming, then I'd have already ordered the Silver RBs.

But it lookslike $300 for TPMS sensors that it might recognize on its own, or $100 for Bosch TPMS and $250 for a higher end programmer to be able to set frequency as well as ID, and 2009 had a mid year change in frequencies  to complicate matters

Budget friendly are these two options, one is $300, the other is best offer::

How important is the TPMS? I paid $100 for programmable Schrader sensors for my Toyobaru and a shop programmed them for me to match the expected IDs for free. In terms of just having them to interact with the stock system vs. not having any, I don't think it was worth it. The car takes at least 30mins of uninterrupted driving to notice if the sensors have been removed or reinstalled and flip the dash light on or off, so I don't think it could warn me of a fast leak in any useful amount of time. Some cars react more quickly though. The sensors can read temperature and pressure so data logging with them could add some value, but if I had to replace them all I'm not sure I'd bother. I think they only thing they might realistically help with is catching a slow leak I might've missed otherwise.

Since Mini's have beeps and lights for what seems like everything, I'm looking to avoid adding to them. It will beep or pop up a notification for temp dropping below 37f, my dog triggering the passenger side airbag sensor, and others.

I'll have to call around to see if any of the local shops would be willing to program the Bosch or Schrader ones. I had my son check at the dealer he works for, and they don't have a tool that will program aftermarket sensors.

I believe the response time is better for pressure sensing than for the  sensor going silent or being replaced. I've seen many where you can have a tire that's trigger the light due to low pressure, add air and the light will go out almost immediately.

I came across this Foxwell kit.

I wonder if anyone has any experience with them (especially with Minis)? It does both frequencies so it may be the solution I am looking for to address the TPMS sensor.

So while not critical, who do we like for wheel bolts?

The car came to me with BIMECC tuner style bolts that seemed resistant to corrosion before the local tire chain damaged threads and had to pay for two new rear hubs. They supplied the shop with chrome spline style bolts that are already showing rust.

They will be used with these:

If you are changing them out I would go with a stud conversion, but I'm not a fan of wheel bolts.

I don't have any specific experience on any kits, I've been eyeing some for my R53 but haven't got around to ordering any yet.

I think I'm going to listen to my practical inner voice (i.e. cheap), and save $500 by going with the used Mini X-lites for this summer.

I'll watch for a used set of Minilite/RB style wheels that i can paint or have powder coated white over the summer. If i don't find a used set then I'll order a set of RBs next spring.

So I finally pulled the trigger:

Pick these wheels up on Thursday. 16x6.5 ET 48 and approx 17.5 lbs:

Tires ordered are  Continental Extreme Contact  DWS 06 Plus in 205/50ZR16 (TR called to confirm my size selection, so fingers crossed they fit without issue)

TPMS ordered is this kit from foxwell:

My son will do the mounting and balancing at work on his break, so as long as there's no snow in the forecast I'll get them on the mini next week.
