Thanks for the comments guys, glad you enjoyed the transformation. It was a lot of work, but it was pretty satisfying work. It took a lot longer to sell though than I had originally thought, I guess the market is still soft for sports coupes.

Update to the total since I sold a couple extra parts.
So the total of all sales is $6100 for a total profit of $1813.
Getting closer to the $2k mark. I still need to list a lot of this crap on ebay, I just hate taking pictures of it all.

v Taking pictures is the biggest hurdle for me as well. Not that I'm bad at it or dislike it, it's just the whole process of uploading and waiting. I guess I'm impatient.
I really enjoyed this. Thanks for sharing with us and I hope the e39 yields at least as much if not more in profit!!
Figured I would update this thread one last time since I finally sold off the last of the parts from the parts car I bought for this deal.
Last time our total was sitting at $1813 with not many parts sold off the car. I finally got around to putting the rest of the stuff on ebay and then sold the wheels and tires on craigslist. So what did we end up getting for all this hard work and time?
Which leaves us with a sub-total of $1121 in spare parts sales! Wow! Add that to the $1813 for a grand total of $2934.
Well that turned out much batter than expected. I was able to give a worn out Celica a new lease on life, and make almost three grand in the process, amazing. Thanks for watching gents, and for the nice comments!

Negative. I don't ever count that up because it would probably end up putting all my projects into the red, I don't really count it as work though, it's fun for me and pays better than sitting on the couch watching TV.
But if I had to guess I would say probably about 24-28 man hours.
Even 30 man hours is dam good money when you consider it is tax free. So.
Having Fun.. . .Check
Creating really cool threads on GRM . . . . Check
Making significant $$$/ hour while doing it . .. . Check
You Sir are winning at this game!!!!!

I'm in south Florida, and so far all the cars I have found are on Craigslist. I usually run a search for cars by owner, under $1500, with a manual transmission. Then it's just a matter of finding something I think I might be able to turn around.
