Good evening Grass Roots Motor Sports...um......community,
I've got a few questions after working in the garage. First I'll start with brakes, I have finally installed the front suspension in my Stag. I was one bolt away from getting it done, when the brake dust shield kept getting in the way, so after some more colorful language I decided to just take it off. I'm just asking if this is a good (better brake cooling I hear) or bad thing. My next question is what tires should I get for my Stag? The current size is 195/70 R14. The car will be my daily driver, and see some track days and autocross so a sporty street tire would work I think. Finally, I am also looking in to finding a shop that could refurbish my rims for me, or should I do it my self, or get Minilite rims.
Thank you for your auto knowledge, Ryan
Leave the backing plates on. If it's going to be a DD you want to keep as much junk out of there as possible. Tires? check out tirerack.com. good prices and a ton of info on tires. As far as wheels, panasports were less than $200 a piece for my TR3 (15")
as your stag will be an occasional DD/track/sunnyday car.. do not worry about all seasons. A good summer tyre will do you well.
I agree on the panasports. Light weight, good looks, better sizes.. and cheap price. What can go wrong?
