I saw a metalflake orange Gremlin X V8 with Cragars and a 70s hood scoop outside Lowes last week. It looked barn fresh. Perhaps we should all hang out in front of Lowes looking for Supras in 20 years

I'd have to dig up a picture to see what they look like: they are that rare here. Meanwhile, I can count at least Seven different Pontiac Azteks that seem to be in perfect shape.

A friend of mine here has had 4 or 5 of them. He's always bought and traded cars. One will need something small like a fender, he'll get it, fix it, drive it for awhile and trade and do it again.

The one he has now is an absolutely GORGEOUS 1995 Forest green solid top 6 speed twin turbo car, that has a killer set of wheels on it and a 4 inch HKS exhaust the sound of the motor gods. He claims its a one of 14 or something like that, which I think is nerdical nosense.

He got that recently, didn't he?

When I used to daily-drive my N/A FC, I would try to look out for other Japanese RWD cars from the 80's and 90's (Supra, RX-7, Starquest, etc.). While there are plenty of FDs at autocrosses and I know of a few RX-7 owners in MA, I don't think I saw any in the wild aside from the occasional FC convertible.

There is one guy in my town who owns a silver Mk. IV Supra that looks like an F&F reject. It is fast, but I don't think he know how to handle it. I was following it one time in my MS3 on a twisty road and we were both hustling. He should have blown me away, but the rear end looked very squirmy, so I eventually backed off.

I have a rich friend who owns a black 1995 Supra Twin Turbo, an FC RX-7 Turbo II autocross car, a 1967 (?) Cadillac flower car, and just recently, an FD RX-7. The Supra has some motor work done to it but thankfully the exterior is, and will remain, stock. The FD has a bodykit, but it's not as horrible as some of the bodykits I've seen available for them. Still isn't as sexy as a later JDM FD like a Bathurst or Spirit R version:

Oh, my yes.

I see a couple almost every day on the way to work. One is a green TT, another red. Haven't been close enough to it to determine NA or Turbo. Also, my friend has one, an NA that is his former T2 car and old CART pace car.

I was gonna say...pix or it ain't real!

They are around here in the bay area and i'd say 50/50 were stock. I remember my mom bought a celica vert when the last model supra was out, the stock supra cost 39,000$, which was and still is a hell of a lot of money.

I don't see many of those stock rx7s they are indeed a rare bird in stock form.

I would do all manner of illegal/immoral/terrible things to own an late-gen Supra or an FD RX-7.

Really wish I had about $20k laying around to find an FD shell + light wheels and HUGE rubber + LS1.

Almost anyone can own an FD nowadays, if he really really wants one (you'd already have one if you were actually that motivated). Nice rollers are cheap and rolling shells are cheaper. I bought what was basically a rolling shell for $3k 7 years ago before the bottom fell out of the market for these things and have been spending the subsequent time period gradually restoring/building it. I don't make a lot of money but I have an FD because I really wanted one and I am patient. It is a nice one now, but I could not have afforded to buy it as it is, all at once.

I can count on one hand how many 4th gen Supras I have seen in the last 2 years. The last one was a Black N/A, no spoiler, targa with chrome factory wheels. It was on the move so I didn't get a chance to see if it was an automatic. I haven't seen a clean FD in a looooong time (over a year). All the 90's Jap sports cars are getting harder and harder to find in good, clean condition. I would say the last Z32 in good condition I saw, was well over 8 months ago. Plucks at my heartstrings a little. But hell, I hardly even see a good clean SN95 Mustang or LS1 Camaro anymore.

Of course it is. Wanting something that badly and having the passion to pursue it is not normal. That's my point: you can have it if you really want it; it is doable. Also, is doing "all manner of illegal/immoral/terrible things" normal? You don't have to do those things, you just have to make sacrifices and be patient. Do you have a flat screen TV? An I-phone? A playstation? Cable TV? I don't.

I'm not trying to be argumentative. I'm just making the point that oftentimes guys on forums will say "I'd _ to have one of those", and in many instances they could have one of whatever they are talking about if they made the appropriate sacrifices and weren't hung up on getting instant gratification.

Well put, and good for you. It often amazes me the things that people spend money on just because it's "normal" to do so. Even when they barely have enough money to feed the kids, let alone put money aside for college.
