I'm signed up for a track day in March and am looking for an SA2005 rated full face helmet in CT or NY (I live near Danbury and work in Stamford). Does anyone know of a place that sells them? I believe that Driving Impressions up at Lime Rock sells helmets, but I can't think of any other place in the state for non-M (Motorcycle) helmets.
Thanks,
DJ
Is it possible to look up some charts on how different companies have different sizing, try on a few M helmets, then figure your size in a non-m helmet and order it online?
I got mine from saferacer.com
Every helmet brand fits differntly. Find someone local that was one that will let you try it on. Repeat until you find what works for you (size and brand).
Or do what I did. Order the cheapest SA helmet you can find in the same size as your motorcycle helmet and hope it fits. Mine happened to fit my head perfectly. If it didn't, I was going to follow the plan I showed above. The track day might also have loaners. If they do, try on everyone's helmet at the event till you find one you like. Then buy it.

+1 on HMS. The guys there are friendly and know a lot about BMWs/MINIs/road racing in general. Don't forget to show a club membership card (i.e. SCCA), they may give you a discount.
If there's a motorcycle shop in your area, start there. Helmets come in all styles and prices, brandy new ones are usually up to the latest spec. You can try them on and order through the MC shop.

Lookup "Williamson's Helmet Haberdashery", run by FCSCC club member John Williamson. He sells helmets at the local CT autocrosses.
Capital motorsport warehouse! http://www.cmwraceparts.com/
Call capital and make sure they bring load of helmets to speedway expo. That way you try on the helmet before you fork out cash! Expo is at the Big E end of feb - 1weekend in march

I've been to HMS several times and they're great, but they're a long way from 06482.
You'll need to log in to post.
