In changing over the suspension in my Classic 900, I have run into a small problem regarding the minispare. While I have one that matches the new bolt pattern, both it and the spare that was in the car the past 24 years are shot. Both are dryrotted and one has tread seperation. I would not want to drive on either more than just getting down the driveway.

The tire place I usually use does not stock tyres for minispares... So the question is, can you replace the rubber, or do I need to replace the entire thing as a unit?

And no.. there is not really any room for a full size

Have you tried the wreckers?

I've been meaning to replace mine, too. For now I've just been carrying a full size spare in the back of the hatch. Admittedly, it could be more secure than it is...

Find the same size tire in the junkyard and have a tire store mount it on the wheel that fits your car. Most mini spares are never used, the only thing I'd worry about is the age of the tire.

What size? There are lots of different sizes out there, some radials even. Check the trunks at the junkyard.

If you were local, I'd give you one. Or three. Whatever.
