"adding" 944 bodywork to a 924 doesn't seem like a minor process...

If you go with Carerra GT rear arches, its all mostly a bolt on with holes drilled into the rear quarters to mount the CGT flares.

The front is all bolt on as the cars are essentially the same underneath.

US spec Porsche 924:

Euro spec Porsche 924:

$300 in bumpers and a set of BBS-style wheels makes a huge difference.

Fixing the side markers and improving the performance via increased compression or adding a turbo is much more extensive/expensive.

The "buck teeth" fog lights could go, IMO.  However some people like them.

One could add the 924 Turbo or the 968 "bridge" rear spoiler.

The 968 round mirrors bolt on (and work better)

The 944 smooth/flush fit windshield drops in with a spacer (most replacement ones come with it built in).  You could even retrofit a windshield with a built-in antennae and eliminate the fender mounted antennae.

The 924 Turbo vented nose panel bolts on after drilling out some spot welds.

The rain rails from a 944 S2/968 can be fitted, but requires spot welding some new clips.

Some mods are easier than others, some just cost money.  One merely needs a vision and some imagination.

I think the 1979-81 base model Firebird is downright frumpy looking, especially with the flat hood and without the rear spoiler. It has the same lame-o "frump-back" styling as the suppository-shaped Infiniti J30 (which I still like for some reason, btw):

Now, click off that WS4 option box, indicating the Trans Am package, and also the WS6 package whish adds the 15x8 wheels and more... well, look at it!

Yeah, much better.

Legitimately the most beautiful flares I have ever seen.
