No, not at all. It's an old two stroke, stripped and turned into nearly a dirt race bike. Somebody built an engine for it, and it is running lower gearing. It's faster than my dad's old XL500. Unfortunately, the chassis is shot, and it's an old beater now.
Except this one has had all of it's lights and stuff stripped off. I have most of it, though, and a clear title.
I know it is more than a pit bike. I guess I need emoticons.
My thoughts were I could tell the wife this wasn't a motorcycle so much as something akin to the scooters and such people use as pit bikes, and perhaps this would make it a little more palatable to her.
I have a Chevelle that's technically for sale. Not listed any where because I really don't want to sell it. It's turning into a basket case. It was my Grandmothers car. I would love to fix it up, but just can't find the time. Rust is going to return it to dust if I don't fix it or pass it on too someone who will.
My MR2 is going up for sale, but I just haven't gotten around to getting the smog cert. and everything. I've been meaning to for a couple of months now, but I have to do it when I know I'll have the time to deal with the flakes on CL and move it in the 90 days the smog cert. is good for.
With my schedule the way it's been I can just see myself getting all the paperwork in order, and then getting too busy to deal with all the kids who want to 'test drive' it, but don't have enough to actually pay for it... yadda, yadda, yadda.. and then I have to get another cert. and start all over again.
I just found out I can insure my 944 through Hagerty for $139 a year. Geez. I might just keep it now. I'd love to just accumulate cars, but my wife is less receptive to that idea.
There is that word again - wife. The good news is mine likes cars, even sports cars with manual transmissions. The problem is she has expensive tastes and has no tolerance for broken air conditioners and such.

I would dearly love to get rid of my 62 Thunderbird but for some reason I haven't posted it for sale. Anyone need 4,300 pounds of sexy FE big block action?

I want a deuce.

Every time I list a car, someone assumes I have a problem with my penis. Instead of monetary offers I get moderately offended.
If I own it, it's for sale. Offer me enough money and it's yours.
I have a '75 Duster slant with very low mileage that I've listed a couple of times. It's still for sale.
I've got the opposite issue. My Corvette is advertised all over the place and I can't move it. A couple of tire kickers, thats all.
I do this with parts.. shelved a beautifully machined 1.8t AEB head back when I had my Jetta... I just dont see why nobody is biting, ive kept it in plain view on the top shelf of a storage cabinet at the far back of the garage wrapped in opaque plastic.
yep, my vehicross is for sale, er, sorta.. i did actually put up an ad or two, awhile ago, for a short time, but those have either expired or were buried in online forums some time ago. just one of those things where i dont really want to sell it, but my needs have changed and i really should get something bigger. i guess i need to put more effort in it at some point, not today though...
I have too many cars for my new (used) home. I keep saying I'll list a bunch of them and whichever ones sell will be the ones that go. So far I've listed the 2 least valuable ones I'd like to see go first but have gotten very little action, just 1 test drive in a couple months. I'm almost to the point of running no reserve Ebay auctions or parting them out just to get rid of them. One's an 84 Suburban 454 tow vehicle (I'm driving daily with for sale signs)and the other is an 88 Nova Twin Cam. I can't figure out how to bump an ad in classifieds here so the orignal ads here are probably burried.
A guy made me an unsolicited offer on my 81 Malibu and I accepted. He didn't show up to pick it up, so I'm going to start tearing it apart for the suspension upgrades this week and I've got a 4 bolt 350 at the machine shop we're bulding for it.
Vehicles I would sell
66 Mustang coupe project
67 Camaro RS SS Conv 350 restomod RedW/black stripes Black deluxe interior
70 Buick Wildcat Custom 455 almost all stock survivor still has original green paint black interior
84 Suburban 454 Red/blue cloth $2,000.00
86 Carrera Euro Widebody Cabrio red/black leather
81 Malibu yellow/black vinyl, fresh paint and interior
88 Nova Twin Cam $1,500.00 Black/grey cloth stock
00 F-350 Dually CC 7.3TD Lariat white/gold W/tan leather
I sold two cars in a row that weren't for sale while working at autozone. They were my daily drivers at the time and I just struck up conversations with the right people.
1996 Ford Probe GT
I sold this one when a customer came in looking for a fix to the egr problem on his 97' GT. He got tired of trying to fix his car and bought mine instead. Hardest part of the whole transaction was getting my license plate off the car when the bolts were spinning behind some plastic I couldn't reach into. Oh, and my friend who was driving me home damn near rear ended the car about 5 minutes from where I sold it.
1991 Mazda Miata
Random contractor wanders in with his buddy and they get what they need and head out. A few minutes later the contractor walks back in and asked who owned the blue miata outside and if they were willing to sell it. It was a rainy day, rocker rust was poking through, and I was running 13" steelies from a tercel at the time. Guy brings his wife by a few days later and they buy it without even taking a test drive. $2700 for a 91 with a rust hole? Works for me.
Just sold my '91 318is, back to the guy I bought it from in November.
He posted a wanted ad, I told him I'd sell him his old car. Had a deposit a few days later. He flew out this morning and is currently driving back to Virginia.
