hmm....after waiting 2 minutes for Vimeo to buffer, that was not really very exciting at all . A stock WRX or A4 with snow tires could have tackled those plowed roads and groomed bunny slopes.....(I am saying that having driven my own WRX about 500 feet up the bunny slope at a local resort to drop off some gear, with little difficulty)
I'm not a Ken Block fan, but his version is about a billion times more impressive, even with all the stupid Bro-hoonage in it...And his doesn't have a group hug at the end

also, Primus > whatever that "music" was in the GT-R vid
My Miata with snow tires could have tackled those plowed roads (probably). Maybe not at its current ride-height, but I think it sits a bit too low at the moment.
I was impressed by what appeared to be a very long uphill drift towards the end.
I guess you missed the point. My $2500 truck could do it too. I suppose if you don't enjoy watching a $100,000 car flying up a snow covered mountain you may be more worldly than I could've predicted. My apologies sir.
(Cue the "Most interesting man in the world ads)

To be fair, the muzak did kind of ruin it. I'll never understand the desire to over-ride a perfectly good car-noise soundtrack.
Could also be that I was just last night watching Clarkson hooning the Ferrari and Bentley out in the snow. More than $100k, and hooning them much harder :)
judging by the muzak, this vid of the Bentley in the snow must be made by the same guys...

I am with the the OP on this one. Ya any number of other cars could have done the same thing but the fact that it's a GT-R makes it extra tasty. Nice photography, nice car, nice scenery........well done I say. Geeez tough crowd here.
No feelings hurt here guys, it's really not super important to me. I guess I'm trying to imagine myself making the "I'm not impressed by the video you posted because I've seen much better with awesomer soundtracks" comments. I guess I just keep that stuff to myself and read other threads. Oh well, no biggie.
Feedyurhed got the point it appears!
I could have done most of that in my MG and it would have been much more scary. But everything is in the MG!
My MG would have stopped for the ladies, and forgo the mountain for a nice drink.
There's nothing wrong with that film. I like it. It is not as good as the Ferrari FF/Heart of Courage video, but it is still impressive.
[YMMV. I like datsun/nissan]
I enjoyed it. Had some neat filmography. As for the car, I'm a Nissan guy. I've got one sitting in a barn somewhere...
I don't care if its a $100.00 car or $100,000.00 car. If it can perform in the weather, I want to see it.

Heck ya I get it. I say post up everything and let the chips fall where they may. We are all friends here. Thanks for putting that up. Godzilla on a ski slope........ I dig it.

oy....it's not that I thought it was a bad video. It was filmed well enough, etc. It's really a matter of the expectation that the GT-R is going to do something amazing in the snow (as it tends to do in many other venues), and when it just kind of drives around it's kind of like "wait....did I miss the amazing part?"
Personally, I expect that Godzilla on a ski slope is going to be outrunning an avalanche down a black-diamond mogul run. For bonuse, said avalanche can be either a real one, or the Chevy kind. Either way would be exciting :)
And putting music to any automotive video, thus obscuring the sound of the car itself, is usually a no-no in my book. Unless of course that music is Iron Maiden, or the car sounds bad, or its covering up for wind noise (in the case of my own gopro vids).
i am always impressed when someone takes out a 100k car and does something like that....at anytime something could have gone wrong and it would have been a great "did you see that idiot that backed that GTR into a snowbank vid at a 100mph"
