Looks like they have a Nov 11/12 event coming up, west of Toledo in OH. But I can't find more details, like when reg will be up, what time is drivers meeting, etc. Am I just being dimb and not seeing it? I hate to just email the coordinator if I'm just missing it online.
Anyone here a regular?
Btw, I'm hoping to give the Saab a challenge redemption run. If I can confirm the details I will be inviting all who participated in the build. I'll have to go look at the rallyx rules again, but I bet the Saab will be PF.

It looks like all that info is on the registration page in msr. I don't run with Detroit so I can't give you more info than that.

It's a fair bit west of Toledo, actually...
They usually don't open pre-reg until the event beforehand has run. Pre-reg as early as you can, they usually max ou within a couple days of registration opening. Which is why I haven't run with Detroit much at all the past few years, as I usually don't know if I can make it until a day or two beforehand.
Oak Shade Raceway. Dirt track banked oval. I would imagine that the racing is out in the parking fields area. Back in the late 90's I used to go there often. My girlfriend at the time's father sponsored a couple of cars out there.
Address: 12985 CR-14-2, Wauseon, OH 43567 map Super easy access off the Ohio Turnpike. Located at Exit 34 of The Ohio Turnpike so that means 34 miles into the State of Ohio. Absolutely nothing around there but corn fields.
Thanks guys, I knew I was missing something simple.
Saturday afternoon/evening format seems like it could be really cool. I did a night ice race before and it was one of my favorite car events. Plus, it will allow me time to get over there without waking up at like 3am. I lose an hour to time zones too.
Most of the info is posted on their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/groups/518637761550228/.
You may want to post there to see if you can run. You would definitely be in MF due to the weight removal. The SCCA rules say that the car has to maintain the original silhouette so converted to a pickup it would not be legal. At a regional event you may not have anyone protest but post on their facebook page for clarification first to make sure.

Interesting. So how does that vw pickup run? Or are you saying PF does not allow modified silhouette but MF does?
In reply to Robbie :
Leon's Caddy still has the silhouette of a Caddy, even if it's a Golf under the front and a Miata under the back and somewhat tube framed in the middle. And it is entered as a Caddy, not a Golf or Miata.
(It occurs to me that you may not be aware that VW actually did make a pickup version of the Rabbit. I've met people who didn't know about the existence of the Rampage and thought the ones on the road were conversions)
It was kind of interesting as some of the higher ups caught wind of his build thread and offered him helful advice as far as what he should do to avoid problems, like "put a bed in the back so it actually looks like a pickup and not a tube frame car".
HA!
Did not know that vw made a pickup version. Well, I'll figure out how to fire up my old faceballs account and see if I can run.
I posted on the Facebook page to see what they say. Matt Wolfe comes here occasionally, he would be able to give a definite answer.

Thank you. I can see the thread and the comments, but can't seem to comment myself. Maybe I can't figure it out yet. I did try to join the group, so we will see. I was going to try to post a picture.
I'll see you in next week! I better get my car ready then...
and the tow truck!
Looks like they won't allow me to run the Saab (at least that's what people posting in the facebook thread say, not sure how official that is or not, since I'm not really familiar with who the people are).
I still might try to get out there with the Saab, and codrive with Ian's svt focus (that used to be mine, haha).
I don't see why it couldn't be legal in the X class that already has competitors, if it passes safety inspection (and DRSCCA runs a rather thorough safety inspection). But I'm not them.
Well, I went ahead and registered. I will bring the Saab, but if they won't let it run in person then I will co-drive with Ian (Ian is also registered).
In reply to Robbie :
Bringing weird E36 M3 to Detroit rallycrosses seems to be a tradition. I remember one event where, right there in the parking lot, was a new Opel with manufacturer plates on it and a crapton of computer equipment bolted in.
Whelp, busted a fitting working on the fuel pump just now (trying to fix the semi-hacked job we did thrashing before and at the challenge), so I won't be bringing the Saab. I will be there though. Look for me and Ian driving a silver svt focus if you're there too!
