Meh. Be a bit more original. The Power Wagon is more of a "truck" and you don't see them at every mall.
Except he said SWMBO likes the Raptor. Total crap-shoot if a picture of a Power Wagon will receive a scowl. BTDT for that sort of thing.
"But they're damn near the same thing??"
"No... the other one is ugly."
You can't win sometimes...
Granted, the Power Wagon isn't exactly cheap - starting at around $52K. Although maybe used ones don't hold their value like the Raptor. I see a few locally in the 30's for models a couple of years old. 20's for for older examples.
I am pretty sure you have my house bugged. See also: Hyundai Sonata vs Kia Optima In my mind, they are the same car. In her mind, totally different. Also caught slight hell because the Viper is an RT/10 and not a "real convertible". She was not a fan of my targa top C5.
The Colorado is pretty cute, but when you option it up to be comparably loaded (offroad package, teeny weeny diesel engine, optioned up interior) its $51k MSRP. Thats Raptor territory. And it will be worth $10k in 5 years. If I am gonna have $40k of depreciation I will at least have the truck I want!
I think this is all academic at this point anyway, the only way I would want to swing this is to downsize the fleet, and that won't happen until I live in a salt-free state. Having a WRX wagon as a "sacrificial anode" is great.

Fair enough points on the Colorado. Just figured I would toss it out there, as it's an interesting alternative and is apparently pretty capable. The only downside, aside from the aforementioned price, is that you have to put up with rather unfortunately-designed wheels that resemble hootuses (hootii?)

The first one we got at work, I made sure to point that out to everyone. They all got irritated and said the same thing.

No bugging needed.
I've just been there, man... I've was there... for 11 years... being with a woman into cars can be a double-edged sword... they just often see things... different.

Might as well save your breath and time, there is no love for the GMT-700 twins here.

I just can't get past the Power Wagon not being available with an 8' bed. Being a fan of the 70's version, the short bed bugs me.
Not saying they don't exist, but I have NEVER seen a Raptor with an 8' bed either. The Raptor is likely faster and has a bunch of shocks. The PW has locking diffs AND a built in winch. Gee, what's more utilitarian?
But she wants what she wants. I get that.
