Meanwhile in Jacksonville it was 75 and sunny.
Since I put Altimax snow tires on the Land Cruiser 2 years ago, we haven't had a flake of accumulation.
Well after 36 hours without electricity we thought about hopping in to Smoky the Magnificent (an RX-8) to go to a hotel, I mean really, with a LSD and summer performance tires for good traction, what could go wrong?:
Just as we were packing bags we got electricity back. 6-8 inches of snow in Missouri. Oh and Friday night and Saturday morning I drove my semi bobtail from Omaha, NE in this crap! It was an attention getting drive. Last 142 miles took 5+ hours.
Had a free night at a hotel that expired this weekend. SWMBO and I decided we should visit Hocking hills. I haven't been there in years and she's never been. We stopped a few years ago but my back was out at the time so we didn't see much other than the roads (which are awesome by the way).
As the weekend got closer the forecast looked like more and more fun. ~6 inches of heavy heavy snow fell Saturday afternoon between 2-8 pm. By far my favorite trip down there.
Very happy swmbos car has snows on it. The ride to the hotel would have been much more exciting in the s10.
Was low 80's here today, mowed the lawn after it cooled off late this afternoon and ran the irrigation this evening. Soooooo glad I moved South.
Ottawa said:NGTD said:In Southern Ontario, winter is definitely lacking. Cold enough to make yor face hurt though (supposed to be -19C overnight).
And when it does snow you call out the army to save you, typical Toronto attitude...
meanwhile in Ottawa
Geez, I miss the canal. It's been 40 years since I last skated it's length from the university to downtown. The skate home was always entertaining after an evening of pub crawling. I need to go back.
I got zero inches. 200 miles north my mom got 12 inches of snow. We both drive late model Subarus but only mine has snows. Fortunately being born in 1939 she is a prepper and was ready to be snowed in. To me there is snow such thing.
No snow in Bowling Green tonight. Lots of nasty cold rain though. I will happily share if anybody wants some.
In reply to Ottawa and NGTD: Toronto isn't perfect, but, for the record, one mayor did that one time. It appears he learned his lesson (which, for him, was significant progress.) We've dealt with our own snow ever since, like normal people.
First sledding of the season!
And yes we do have proper sledding hills in our yard but I somehow didn’t get any pictures of that.
The wife's escape handled the snow fantastically, she hates bad weather driving but has done fine. I currently can't drive so the ranger hasnt been auditioning for formula D snow edition
Our official weekend total was 11.2". (Peoria, Il)
Saturday's total was 10.7" which broke the record of 6" set in 1905.
(Bottom pic taken around 7pm Saturday)
I think we may have gotten within a couple degrees of our first frost of the winter a couple nights ago....
Went out with some friends yesterday because my truck was way too clean.
This S4 (RS4?) is tuned and loud and makes a lot of good supercharger noises when it's at full Quattro attack mode in a parking lot.
You can have fun with a 2WD Tacoma assuming your friends will push you to get started.
The whole group. Yes, that is a Chrysler Town & Country.
We've only had one very light snowing so far this winter and it didn't even stick to the road. If our temps would've been five to ten degrees colder so this winter we would've had multiple huge blizzards. But instead we just get pounded with inches and inches of very cold rain.
Fortunately, weather app says there's a good chance of snow all day this Saturday. I might be able to finally drive my Forester with it's winter tires in snow for the first time in like three years.

And to be fair that was 20 years ago yesterday so all is forgiven/forgotten, I'll stop trolling the Torontonians
