When I was a young'un my dad had a LUV that was our only vehicle. It had a topper and some egg crate foam in the bed so me and my sisters could ride in the back (this was the late 70s early 80s so it was safe back then). Be used it for several vacations from Fort Worth Texas to the motherland of Wirt County West Virginia. That truck taught me the lesson that Japanese vehicles dont like cheapo auto store universal parts. We broke down in Kentucky one summer with a bad fuel pump and all the store tried to give us a universal electric fuel pump and the truck wouldnt run. Finally dad got ahold of a genuine Isuzu pump and all was well. Cool story!

I was trying to find the original price of a '78 Luv but my Googlefu is weak today...
My step dad had one back in the early 90's, it was a neat little truck, well worth $78.50.

"LUV" stood for "Light Utility Vehicle".
someone GAVE me an '85 P'up in '99. while doing so, he mentioned it had been a good pickup for only costing him $5,000 brand new.
There was a flat black LUV at the drag strip last night running around 10.0. I think I'd rather have it.
there is a 4 X 4 version that runs around here (Roanoke) with a "canoe" rack. It looks rather, and I never thought I'd say this about a LUV, badass
That's the cleanest LUV that's not in a museum, I bet. Every one I see is a bucket or has been hacked up by the minitruckin' guys.

I sent the link to my dad who told me it was twice as much as he paid for a new one in 1977.

You got that right. Most of those were a pile of rust flakes by the mid 80s. This one must be from some sort of time capsule or sporting a flux capacitor.
