Blue/blue is my favorite combo on the GTO, so hell yes I would! The auto's are good transmissions. You're a trans brake and a set of slicks away from air under the front tires...

My purple/purple '04 was an auto. It was a fantastic DD. I'd go for it at that price.
Why yes, I DO wait for GTO threads so I can post these pics.
I have to admit, that's the first time I've ever seen purple leather seats.
Hopefully the last, also.

Regardless of color, GTOs have awesome seats, IMO.

Oh please, we know you've been inside a brothel!
If you don't want it, I'd be tempted to take it. I had an '04 in the same color combo, though mine was a 6spd. Sure, I'd prefer the stick, but the shifter wasn't the best thing ever anyway. The car is flat out awesome, and the color is far and away my favorite...even the interior.
My DD is 2004 6spd GTO. While the shifter is not a miata, it is decently weighted and at least is set up to return to the 3-4 shift plane if released. I get the best gas mileage(21+ in suburban commuting) by starting in 2nd gear, and then using only 4th and 6th for upshifts unless in a really big hurry.
However for most ppl, the auto is probably a better transmission as DD. Constant application of WFO is going to be hard on the running gear no matter what trans is in the car.
Yes on the auto and yes on the color. I like big V8's with auto's for DD's, the more torque, the less I miss a third pedal. I'm fine with the color of the seats too, you can join my denial club and insist that they are blue, no matter what people tell you.
Nothing wrong with an automatic muscle car. Hell, most of the great muscle cars from the '70s came in automatics.
And as long as you can stick the thing in first and second gear, you can autocross it.
That is a good shade of purple for the seats, it's not too bold for most people. The purple on purple is a much more interesting color scheme than the extremely boring silver exterior (that most people bought) due to the bland styling. If you're like me and can't stand an auto, buy it and trade it for one that has a 6 speed.

but Holden is still around, and they are the ones that built the thing..
