I would've thought that Best Buy would have a kit for the headunit. Don't quote me on this but I think it might be pre wired and ready to go. It might be a good idea to poke around on an Accent forum to see what some of those guys who bought the stripper models did about the head unit. For wheels, 4x100 is the bolt pattern so there are tons of options. I run old VW teardrops for my summer tires since the Yaris uses 4x100 bolt pattern also.

Check these out for 15 x 7" : http://www.jlbmotorsports.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=32_24_147&products_id=618
The picture had "Forged" and RAYS" on the edge of the wheel. Not sure if it's the actual wheel, or just a prop for photos. Pretty light, I think under 11#
No affiliation etc.

I rather think 195/55/15 would be the optimal tire size. The 175/70/14's on the GS are a bit flimsy for my taste. On the other hand, the rubber band 16" tires on the SE are a bit too.... rubber bandy... Firstly, because I am cheap, I am considering sticking 195/60/14's on the OE wheels, perhaps in the RE960 or Altimax HP flavor.
195/60/14 RE960 is what I run on my R/T. LOVE them. Figure on a car with just over 2/3 the power, you won't be pushing them past the limits. Atleast not on the street.

If I push 195/55/15 Dunlops to the limit with an 1800lb, 75hp car, then I would certainly push 195/60/14's in a 2400lb 110hp car.
lots of light weight affordable wheel options here

for reference the oem accent 16" is 16x6.5? (not sure on the width) 47mm offset, 4x100, 54.1mm centerbore, 205/45 tires. The top of the line sedan uses 15's with 195/55 tires, 205/50 is a little shorter and wider but works fine. The base model accent's use 14's and the brakes are the same on all accent's so you could run super light weight 14's on any accent.
All oem miata wheels should be a direct fit, and a lot of them are really light.

In reply to DeadSkunk:
Unfortunately I don't think I have anything that would fit that bill. No VW/MINI stuff here and the only wheels I have are 17x8.5" two piece Works with a 5x108 bolt pattern.
I've got a set of 15" BBS basketweaves from a VW that I'd let go cheap. Before I got them, one had hit a pot hole and bent the lip on the inside of the rim. I beat it back straight, but have never had a good tire mounted on it(the one on there now apparently de-laminated when it happened), so I don't know if it's true or not. The other-3 are good though.
Edit: Pic here

We didn't roll on the Mini S wheels for long, as I sold them shortly after the pic was taken. And yes, they were stupid heavy. We've actually been on a set of 14x6 Miata wheels for the past couple years. Our car is a GS, but I have it on a set of SE struts/springs.
When the stock tires wear off, I'll be mounting up a set of 10# 14x7 TSW wheels I picked up from a relative (former ITA CRX wheels that saw exactly one session on track 15 years ago.)
