I had an RX8 R3 from 2012 until 2018 and really enjoyed it. At 6'-3" and "not skinny" I fit in it just fine, even with a helmet, but the R3's have no sunroof. I tracked it stock and with coilovers, sway bars and 255 R compounds and it was a joy, very nicely balanced on both setups with amazing steering feel and a fully adjustable suspension. With coilovers and 255 NT-01's I was a decent bit faster than a similarly prepped BRZ on 235 NT-01's. It was reasonably practical for such a small car having room for my wife and 2 kids with easy access to the back thanks to the rear doors.

I sold it as I wanted something different and had the chance to buy my parents 2015 WRX that they'd owned since new, which allowed me to sell my winter car as well and use one car year round (we get a fair bit of snow here).

I've owned both - in fact I still own the Frisbie.

Other than the rodents nibbling on the RX8's wiring loom, I've had far fewer issues with the RX8 than I'm having with the BRZ. I also think the RX8 is a more practical car and I doubt it's slower (or at least much slower) on the track compared to a stock Frisbie.
