WRseX FTW!

I may have just drove 5 hours one way to buy a $3k wrx after finding it on kijiji at 4pm this afternoon. Rear struts are shot, has some rear fender rust. 200k kms. It is the best Subaru deal I've ever bought. It'll go good with the bugeye rallycar that gets here on the weekend.

Damn, great deal. I hadn't been watching wrx wagons lately, if I had seen how cheap they've gotten just this year I might have bought one instead of the GS430. Maybe next car.

The toast rear struts had been toast a long time apparently... after taking it over a bumpy gravel parking lot, I hit the highway and noticed a bad vibration above 80km/h. Pulled over, wiggled all of the wheels, not much locating the passenger rear wheel and the trailing arm isn't broke.

I'm figuring that the strut-innards finally wore through something important without any fluid in it, and physically busted the strut into pieces. The good news is that I made it 5 minutes out of town, so I drove the car back and dropped it next to the car hauler which will come in tomorrow evening.

Edit- Also good news, struts are cheap. I might do raceland coilovers because cheap bastard

For those wondering. The interior is ABSOLUTELY MINT. The driver's side has a teenie bit of easily fixable rust. Without the rust damage, the car honestly looks like (and drives like) it has 100,000kms on it. Even has a newer clutch with less than 50,000kms on it!

You know how to pick 'em!

Checking WRX prices in my area now...'round here that kind of money will almost get me into a ratty, high-kms 1st-gen. Which I prefer the look of anyway. I think I know what my next car is going to be.

I could start another thread, but I'm curious about this Q-CSA Direct. How does it work? Is bidding very aggressive, or are deals easy to come by?

Nice looking car Adam. Mine also has rust around the rear fenders. BTW if it still has those stupid rubber things on the rear fenders take them off. That is why mine has rust.
