Hey guys,

At around 13000 miles, I installed a set of Project Mu HC800+ front brake pads on my car (2013 WRX 5 door). The rotors were in good shape, as this car is pretty new. The OEM brake pads showed no signs of uneven wear and looked pretty good as well. The install was done without a hitch. I followed the recommended bed in procedure.

My issue is that my car will occasionally/often make a squealing sound (similar to the one that the pads produce when they are cold) while I am driving at a constant speed (NOT braking at all). My thoughts ranged from pad deposits to obliterated rotors, but (as far as I can tell), the pads are wearing evenly and the rotors still look to be in good shape.

Any thoughts as to why this may be occurring? The car is pretty new and still drives just fine (brakes hard, accelerates and cruises without any signs/symptoms of a dragging caliper etc). The sound doesn't bother me all that much, its part and parcel of having aggressive pads, but I am still curious as to why its occurring when I don't brake at all. Thanks!
