It might be more believable if they listed actual muscle cars...

Since when is a Delorean or Citation a muscle car?

I agree.

While the GTO, Cobra, and the like did a good job of sullying their forbares.. none of those cars were muscle cars

I find it funny that the GTO fambois screamed bloody murder when GM released a powerful Holden on our shores as the new GTO.. but said little about that last gasp of the name back in the early 70s

The DeLorean was a muscle car?

Say what? A 304ci V8 Gremlin is underpowered? A DeLorean is a muscle car? Alrighty then...

These stupid top 10 car lists on Yahoo have only two purposes: 1) to increase their website traffic, and 2) to give people on car boards something to argue about..

Ok better question how many people on this board would own some of those cars? Cause I totally would.

saw that article and thought "US cars that GRM folks would love to find in a barn" other than that, bad writing by someone who has no clue about cars.

I'll take the Delorean or the Monza, the rest are better off being recycled as real cars

(Adrian Thompson has recently entered the whitness protection prgram after insulting 93% of this board in one sentance)

Umm, yeah! I see 1 maybe 2 cars that I wouldn't own in that list.

I didn't read the article, but judging by the fact that most of those cars aren't muscle cars, the photos aren't a very good representation of at least 3 of those cars, there are only 9, and the DeLorean years are wrong, I'd say it's not worth my time reading it.

And the folks running Yahoo wonder why they aren't relevant anymore. Just another case of a "internet journalist" making some filler that they don't know what they are talking about. Now get off my lawn.

So, its official. When it comes to cars, Yahoo I'd not the source.

As the owner of several '73-92 Mopars, I dissagree.

Missed several. The '74 Buick GSX was certainly no '70 Buick GSX.

Seriously?

As an aside, Dodge also built a faster family sedan than the SHO you're driving. In 1991.

I am curious as to what 1993 Chrysler product ended this hypothetical drought.

Kids these days....

Isn't that right around when the Viper came out?

Yeah, there were some pretty good turbo Chryslers in the 80s, but I wouldn't all any of them "muscle cars". Then again, a lot of the crap on that list doesn't qualify, either.

Pretty much any of the early-mid 70s emissions-choked paint-and-stripe domestic coupes fit the criteria, IMO. Hell, the iconic muscle car of the 70s is probably the Smokey and the Bandit Trans-Am, and those had what, 180hp or something?

Quoted for truth . . .

Alternatively the title could have been "Crappy Cars That Need an LS Motor".

i HATE mustang II's... but i'd rock that cobra II hard... it's so awesomely bad 70's i can't stand it... I would be tempted to cut my hair into a mullet for a bit even ;-)

I can't say i'd turn down any of em if they where given to me... they are all awesomely bad in some way and i'd still rock em hard...

Get the intraweb panties out of a bunch......I was obviously kidding, granted the late 70's aspens and such were worthy of this list.

And yes, I know what the spirit RT is.....I don't think of anything FWD is a muscle car anyways. The viper is the mythical beast I mentioned.

I know these things are always silly, and who's to say what a "muscle car" is. But for what it's worth, a Citation X-11 did 0-60 in 9.1 and a quarter mile in 16.8. And that's considered whimpy. But a car that everyone loves, the AE86 Corolla did 0-60 in 10.4 and a quarter mile in 18.4. It all comes down to what you expect, I guess.

Huh, just looked and the X-11 numbers are virtually identical to an '82 Corvette.
