I wonder if anyone has done a Roots for the bottom end in conjunction with a centrifugal for the top? Wouldn't look as cool though.

I was next to a much more pedestrian version (but still ultra rare, one of like 42 across two model years in the US) this summer at a car show. We were the "import" section haha.
Anyway, there are a lot of things like this. Vw headlights, Ford taillights, an asbestos warning under the hood (wait, what!??), etc.

To do that in parallel would present some very interesting problems. Current twincharged Volvos manage something sort of similar with valving and clutches if i remember correctly. To do it in series (compound) would probably be easier, funnily enough.
