You sent me a completely unsolicited Classic Motorsports magazine for free the other day. That issue put all sorts of bad, money spendy, ideas in my head and now I'm considering reading THAT magazine too! Was it not enough that I have a 10 year sub AND my hot wife, whom I haven't posted pics of in the hot wife thread, bought me another 10 year sub?! Now you have to entice me with your devil's apple of unspeakable knowledge known as Classic Motorsports?

Let's be reasonable here. I know my Miata is a 92. It's coming up on 20 years old next year. I get that it's a soon to be classic. I'm sure you know this by your insidious data mining that you perform on my posts I freely submit to your free (AGAIN! SOCIALISTS!) web forum.

But enough! I cannot afford another car hobby! But uh...if you want to send another issue of Classic Motorsports over. I mean, I could read it. You know. For the good of the magazine. Inflating circulation numbers and all. I'd do that. For you.

In the meantime I'll try vainly to resist buying it on the news stand for the next year or so. Until I break down and subscribe to yet ANOTHER of your magazines devoted to completely usable and affordable car hobbies.

..please don't start one about motorcycles. I can't read enough on the crapper now to keep up. I'm being forced to read at lunch, before I got to bed, all just to keep up. You guys are truly a relentless foe.

When I started CM after GRM I realized 80s and up are still not 'really' CM material as the XR4 was reaching classic status rapidly, so I bought a 72 Fiat, now I can run with both crowds, it's a lot more fun to be addicted to crack and meth at the same time...

I actually have to thank those jackwagons for the same issue, but from the opposite side of the coin. After reading through the articles, I realized that I really am not part of the expensive-frame-off-restoration-shop-pristine-everything crowd, and that it is probably time that my old LeMans I periodically blather about moves on to someone who will give it the refurbishing it deserves.

She's 4.5 months pregnant now so she's a hot wife who is developing quite a power bump.

But about this meth AND crack addiction...

I feel ya Duke. I'm not the anal retentive type so my cars aren't period correct or picture perfect. But I do enjoy a ride in a high compression V8 powered classic ride.

I was reading about turbocharging a Ford I6 the other day. Turns out that I6's have torque characteristics like diesels. Not much hp but plenty of twisting power.

Oh yeah, I remember a Datsun 280Z with not much below 3000, but buzzed to 7k with joy. Might be a few Bimmer guys disagreeing too.

I read the issue and enjoyed it. I appreciate the cars in the issue, I just don't see myself ever owning one.

I'm going to pass it on to my father-in-law who is a huge old-school Mopar guy.

Ya! You should be sorry. Sorry means sending me a few more freebies so I can...um...stop feeling so bad about....er....something...that means I read classic car mags.

Look, I'm not making sense but I need more car mags and you guys are the cause. I hope you're happy with yourselves.

I agree with your original post, but I am making it my life's work to stop people when they say this and point out that it's a myth.

don't worry ... as you get older you'll find that the time spent on the crapper tends to grow...

ROFL! Hey, is Andy really keeping the P1800? I love how he knows the market so well (where did y'all find him, anyway?), but I swear, the man's columns lead me to believe that he's got the twin curses of automotive ADD and enough money to persue it.

Well, since someone has brought up the subject...

I usually just skim Classic Motorsports and only buy it if there is a strong reason to. Example? The PRE Amelia Island issue/guide. But I did buy the latest issue and to those involved: VERY WELL DONE. Thanks to all.

Exactly what I thought of, too.

I was once sent a free GRM t-shirt for no reason. It was a large, and I wear a small, so it's my working-on-cars shirt. Fitting.

Yes. It was like being a crack addict and getting more crack in the mail in a different color with a different cover, only free stating "taste this crack and if you like it we'll send you more and bill you later after you smoke it"

Excellent marketing job.

I've haven't decided yet if I want to subscribe to Classic because the magazine was good, or just because the marketing was just that good.
