V8 power, a manual gearbox and a Porsche badge on the hood, what’s not to love? And did we mention it can be bought for nearly $10,000 less than a brand-new Miata?

This particular example is billed as “mechanically sound,” and shows 47,359 miles on the odometer.

Sure, the car could use a little cosmetic TLC, but don’t we all …

928's are extremely rare in NC and I wouldn't mind driving around in something like this. If everything on the car works and only moderate cosmetic attention is needed, then this may be a 'reasonable' purchase.
To bad it's BH car club and they are notorious for selling junk. Cool car but I would want a pretty exhaustive inspection of it before putting down a dime.
I'm sure deferred maintenance and general repairs will easily make up the cost difference to the Miata :)
A quick FBM search shows several nice ones a few years newer in the 25-30k range

I'm a big fan of the 928 headlight delete. That one for sale does look a bit rought for the price, but manual transmissions are pretty rare in these.

It reminds me of the first one I ever saw. 1979. Same color and all. It was parked inside a shopping mall along with a 930 and a 944. My father chatted up the sales guy and on the way home he remarked that while expensive at $36,000 it was a much better bargain than the "souped up Volkswagen" 930. ![smiley smiley](https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/static/ckeditor/ckeditor/plugins/smiley/images/regular_smile.png)
