In NC we don't do safety inspections for vehicles over 20 years, which means this car could be made road "legal" by merely paying a small registration fee. You could even run a classic 1969 vintage license plate and not even the actual current tag. What fun this would be on the street! :D

Also had similar thoughts here in SC. Going to events and legally being able to check out a tune on a side road would be a plus. However; driving around minimally helmeted, open topped & caged is just to out there to pursue at this time.
There's a guy fairly local to me that autocrosses this '66 'Vette that was converted to a race car in 1967, and he personally has been racing it since 1971. It's an awesome car, with a hot small block, a 'Glide, side pipes and big fender flares
