Still have empty space in your garage? Why not fill it with this Volvo 142 project car?
The 142 is billed as a non-running car, though does come with a “running, carbureted b20 engine.”
The seller also says the Volvo comes with at least most of the things needed to make it roadworthy once again, including engine tune-up parts, rust patch panels, IPD …

You just had to post one within 5 miles of my house, didn't you?!
In reply to Kreb (Forum Supporter) :
Better your house than mine.
240 wheels, not an E. And, I never liked that green.
Whew...
In reply to Streetwiseguy :
Early 240 dash and steering wheel, too. '67 - '93 100 and 200 series are like legos in that regard.
a perfect classic rally car right here, like that old saab project that was here.

This model is on my bucket list to modify and make into a very special road racer. I have owned 240's, but never a 140 series.
had a 1973(if I remember right) 144e, it was Auto but it was a cool fun car. Ended up trading for a 1989 240 5spd which also was a fun car but in my opinion lacked some of the classic style.
Wish I still had either one.

Vintage class FTW, as they say
1970 145 was my first Volvo - did an auto to manual swap on jackstands in a gravel driveway. Not saying how long ago.
I did not need to see this. I really like these.
Mercifully it is very far away.
The first thing you have to do is drop the front end down 2" and raise the rear with air shocks so that the top of the wheel arches are the same height and then stuff 8" wheels under it. That body needs more rake. Next find and bolt 2 1974 big aluminum safety bumpers together and onto the front end for a giant air dam. Make sure you cut the front springs with just a hack saw.
So, has anyone here bought it yet?

I would love this, but it almost couldn't be further away and still be in the lower 48...

There are many 142s to choose from out West. I was ready to move on one at $4k but the guy decided that instead he wanted to trade it for a Harley Shovelhead. Then he decided that he wanted $7k OR a shovelhead - but he still doesn't post interior or engine pics. Have you ever noticed that there are a lot of difficult people out there?

One of the fastest ITB cars in the country was a 142. If you built a 200hp B20 it would be all kinds of fun.

I remember those Volvos From Hell.

I made many a Subaru driver cry with that car....................
My favorite rally car was Bill Malik's 240.
I have been watching this on clist for a few weeks. If I had room and skills.
And, wow, just stumbled upon this: an ITB Volvo From Hell here in Florida.
And check out that vintage GRM sticker.
