I worked on these cars while with the pentastar. I found them to be rather awesome creations. The plan to join one of the european based series was in play for a while after the NATCC failed. But the marketing didn't have an answer for how it would help things. The mockup of the BTCC Neon was rather nice. Anyhow all of it was killed off to focus on other programs.

Anybody in the Neon enthusiast community was totally hot for those at the time. I still think it's super cool.
As I recall those had the 2.0 DOHC, they revved to the moon, had a powerband about 1000 rpm wide, and idled at 2000.
