My college roommate had the US version many years ago. They were everywhere back then. Three in every large parking lot. At least in California. I don't think I have seen one on the road in over 20 years. Where did they all go?

Those were a popular V8 swap candidate when I was a lad. Typical crappy 70s build quality, but a good platform to build from. The black one above is a real looker to be sure.

Yeah, the rust has eaten many a Capri. And here in Europe, it seems quite a few are in "storage" waiting for a revival. I am guilty of that myself, I have one more apart from the one in this thread and I have a friend that also has one - after some...let's call it encouragement - from me...

We had a metal-flake brown one with a 4-cylinder and a 4 speed with a tall first gear that required really slipping the clutch to get it moving!

I built a Capri kit as a kid--this one. I still remember that 12PM license plate.

They called the later version the Capri II, in order to run with the Mustang II, the Bronco II and the LTD II.
