Take the boat+ the motorcycle I mentioned for when you need to "land" and go forage
regarding the boat...
You would also need a decent supply of vitamin C / citrus or your teeth will rot out and you will die.

Well aren't you just a ray of sunshine ;)
Good point though.... Sack a GNC/Drug store before setting off? Multivitamins would probably be a good "investment" in the ZA.

This. Do vitamins ever go bad? Well by the time the did, I am sure you could set up your ship a little of the shore of somewhere there was citrus plants.
Or find some small island that isn't really populated?
My guess is you are going to have more issues with other survivors than you will with the zombies or zoombies. Your boat is going to look like a mighty good idea :P
with the boat.. you can distill seawater to get fresh.. that is not an issue. A far as Scurvy goes. bring plenty of citrus seeds and vitamins. Find an island with fresh water, use that as home base and plant all the fruits and veggies you need.
heck.. in the vent of the zombie apocolypse.. smaller islands in the virgin islands, bahamas and such are not likely to be as affected.. nor would the desert if you could find a place with water
zombies can bloat (from rotting) and float - they also can't drown. Islands aren't an instant safe house.
I wonder if extreme temps like far north would kill off any virus/bacteria causing the zombie infection, or make their undead flesh to brittle they just could not exist?
Nope. It actually preserves the bodies, so they last longer. Zombies have been preserved for 100s of years in ice, only to thaw out and kill more people.
Random zombie killing thought. Wouldn't high power modern air guns be better than actual guns? You don't need to worry about making bullets or propellant and they could be quieter? You'd still need to be able to get the right size pellets but that seems easier to mold or make out of any material
Allow me to save this thread from a text based barrage of flounder.
The T.I.V II would make a good one.

Yes but zombies are attracted to brains and they are going to go to easiest source of brains which is no way out in the ocean. Plus once you are out there, I doubt they will be able to sense the brains they crave.

Nothing to add to the discussion but this needed to be re-posted.

I sure hope not.
Even I, as the coiner of the term "ZAV," am beginning to feel like the whole zombie apocalypse thing has officially jumped the shark.

Maybe so...
But if you actually started the "ZAV" thing, as you say, have you thought about the consequences of maybe your idea jumping a zombie shark???
We are all screwed, between you and the berkeleying Mayans!!!

Too bad I never monetized it!
