Yeah...I think this is the route I want to attempt. XV750 or XV920. found a mangled XV750 for $125. seller is saying transmission jammed. My side jobs need to pay soon..

If you're bound and determined to go the XV route get the 920. The 750 is pretty puny in the performance department, IIRC... The XV920R (chain drive) has some torque, at least, but the starters are junk.
