No, ThrustSSC is a unique non-aircraft based vehicle.
If you are refering to the guys who were on Discovery with the F104, they are nuts, and will probably kill themselves. It doesn't have the structure to stay together on land over a few hundered MPH. And w/o ANY roll cage.....
That show was scary, in terms of what they hoped for with the hardare they had....

If the Blue Flame was a rocket car, the powers that be deemed it not a car and wouldn't allow it to take a title anyway. A jet car was OK but a rocket car was not?

I hadn't heard or seen anything of that, but the concept sounds pretty scary. Technology that was state of the art in 1958 isn't what I'd choose for a land speed record.
The powerplant might be usable, but the airframe belongs in front of a VFW hall or something.
