I'd guess 16 with a rather heavy handed "old" filter applied.

Is that a T-6 or a T-6 II?

T-6. T-6 II has a 4 blade prop and turboprop exhaust that would be easily visible in this shot.

Too shiny for 1944.

Those planes were basically farm implements back then, now they are coddled treasures.

Given the lack of clutter on the utility poles, 1944.

The architecture of the buildings is not war era. Not even close. 2016.

Yesterday at the hangar! T-6D to Air Force guys, this one is actually a Navy SNJ-5, restored to zero-time about ten years ago. This SNJ has a documented WWII service history at Pensacola NAS with VTF-23 (Fighter Training Squadron 23). It still has the mounting bracket for the reflector gunsight and a de-activated Browning .30 cal in the nose cowl mount. Mid to late war SNJs were, in fact, painted gloss aluminum metalic. Ima see if I can get a good profile shot to hot link correctly

My guess was based entirely on the length of the hair, on the gentleman on the left, in the first photo. Too fluffy to be military in '44. He also probably would have had a hat on back then.
