yea, I would get it tested. Best to find out so you can plan for it's removal or for a sigh of relief.

I wonder if chemical stripping would work for lead paint removal?

There is a little loft space for some storage. When I built it to save a little money I made the total height 8' so as to use just 2 sheets of plywood on the gable ends. Interior height is 6'. Works fine for me as I am only 5'6" tall, but you might want to make the wall height 8' which would require a couple more sheets of T-111 (I only needed 10 sheets for mine).
