The little rubber gasket on the cap can also dry out and cause that code. Usually a bit of vasoline rubbed into the gasket clears that.

23.7 MPGs on the last tank, that's just almost 24!

I changed the oil a week ago, went with the "correct" weight, 5w20, Mobil 1 Extended Performance and matching filter, based on the sticker in the window it had 10w30 Motorcraft in it. Our driving habits haven't changed any, might have been even more aggressive accelerations from a stop on that tank. For example, Jewels was driving one day, and more or less floored it when the light turned green, I said something like, "that's great for the fuel economy, you know you don't always have to accelerate like that, Mario," to which she said, "but why wouldn't you?" Maybe there's something to be said for the lighter weight and full synthetic?

If I knew who put that oil filter on last, I'd kick them square in the taint, they must have used a filter wrench and impact.

I've been twisting the fuel filler approximately a full rotation after it starts clicking and haven't had the CEL come back on.

Still have the annoying dash light issue, just haven't made time to drop it at the dealer.
