Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Watching the Rolex race on Speed and saw the commercial for this movie. Looks hilarious.

The book is excellent. I'm wondering if the movie will be roughly like the book.

If I hadn't seen Sucker Punch I would say it should surely be worth it for the action alone, but I know better now. I'll have to read some reviews first.

Based on the "look" of the movie I wanted to see it but after hearing how bad it was, I decided to pass. But then again, I watch "The Mutant Chronicles" every time it comes on TV, so my taste in movies is questionable.

Sucker Punch did in fact not suck.

I can't wait for this movie.

FlightService would agree with you. I would not. There's room for a difference of opinion here, but I don't think eye candy visuals make up for a tired rehash of an old - and horrible - plot line. A more spoiler-filled version of my opinion is here, in an image alt tag.

I liked Sucker Punch visually. The effects, costumes, props, etc were awesome. Action was good, but not perfect. Camera work was great. The writing/plot/ etc, meh.

This new movie holds no interest for me.

I was excited to see Sucker Punch. It truely was horrible, pretty, but horrible.

Oooh- maybe we'll have a film adaptation of Pride & Predudice & Zombies too.

The movie "sponsored" Tommy Drissi's car in the World Challenge race too. (difficult to tell here. I have higher res versions where it's legible)

Saw the trailer for Abe vampire killer a few weeks ago, Abe has some mad ninja skills with an axe. Got quite the chuckle from viewing it.

Chuck is reading this now. Looks interesting. I liked Buffy the Vampire Slayer way more than I thought I would, so this will probably be good.

I really want to see Sucker Punch. I've heard such terrible things about it, but I gotta.

I'm not much for CGI wonderment if its not backed up with a good story, but then I saw this sequence on youtubes:

The fact that it breaks into Bjork at 3:40 didn't hurt either.

I saw Sucker Punch and had no problem with it at all. It was fantasy. It was visually cool and it had no worse plot holes than any other action movie - in fact, fewer than many. And if you want to botch about rehashing an old plot, well hell, at least it's not just REMAKING A COMPLETE OLD MOVIE. And it's certainly got to be a better high concept that Battleship , for berk's sake.

If you saw battleship, that's your own fault. Nobody on this forum - nobody with a pulse, frankly - should be stupid enough to pay theater prices for that drivel. If you want a detailed, spoiler-rich explanation of exactly why I think SuckerPunch is just as bad, read the alt tag to this image.

First of all, this film's premise is beyond stupid: a girl locked up in an abusive mental institution fantasizes about being forced to work as a dancer/prostitute in a brothel? Right. I'm not going to accept that they'd fantasize about that when they could fantasize about BEING FREE...or having a normal relationship, or having their family back together intact. Nobody is going to fantasize about a life that's still so sucktastic that they are going to fantasize about leaving the fantasy. I know that they thought they were getting clever, but they were just being stupid. Furthermore, the One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest ending just killed it for me. I don't care how anime pretty a film is.....that ending is going to make me hate it. I hated One Flew Over, and I hate anything that mimic's it.

Meh, to each his own. Like I said, I didn't have a problem with it. Did I think it was profound? Of course not. Of course, I was also familiar with the graphic series on which it is based.

And I disagree with some of your spoiler critique there. A surprising number of people who were raised with bad behaviour actively pursue that bad behaviour themselves, in other ways.

I had a simmaler conversation with a guy when the CG heavy Hulk movie came out. Watch it for what it is, a cool visual action movie. If you want a deep meaningful plot, look elsewhere.

Sucker Punch wasn't that bad. Action . . .anime "styled" effects . . . yup I watched it. I really like it for that and nothing else. Sorta like TF . . . the first one was good, the last two was less than meh . . . I needed a mind eraser to watch the last two.

Oh, come on, Transformers 2 was good simply for the fact that Jetfire was SR-71 number 972. (Not sticking up for that piece of E36 M3 movie, I just dig Blackbirds.)

The spitting and fart jokes ruined it for me . . . (other than TFs that kept reappearing in multiple places at once and after being blown up or destroyed) much of it was turn off the brain and watch 'splosions . . .
