It's been a tough week for the funny guys. First Jerry Stiller and now Fred Willard. He passed at 86 of natural causes. I loved him in Best in Show.

He was also good in A Mighty Wind, but he made Best in Show. I think all sports color commentators should be made to watch Fred Willard in Best in Show. Sports would actually be watchable.

Same. Looking back, I have no clue why that is - he never really looked younger than his age IMHO, but I was surprised nonetheless when I read it.
Very funny. Always my favorite part of any movie I remember him in.
I texted my wife to tell her that Fred Willard had died.
She asked where I had read that, and I said, “On the toilet.”
In retrospect, that seemed kind of appropriate. I can almost hear that being said in his own voice.

And Spinal Tap, and Waiting for Guffman, and and and....
The first show time that I ever remember seeing him was on the show Real People.
I will admit that it took me a lot of years before I truly appreciated his work.
