Just curious to know, anyone here who is into Trucks? Let say off roading, mud runs etc?
I, myself love's to modifying trucks. I own a Jeep XJ and it's my current project truck, my most current mods is a set of wheels and a 3-inch lift kit. I'm getting ready for this weekends mud run. So who else here would like to share some stories and current mods with their rides?
I've been interested for a while but have no idea where I should look to find places to go play. Your hyperlink has me wondering if a canoe would fit in my truck though.
I, myself loves to modifying canoes.

And in that vein I have removed the canoe from the post, so now if we want to talk about big stupid mud trucks without having to paddle, we can do that. I'm more of a back road guy myself, I hate having to power wash mud off everything.

I used to run my xj, still have it, then got into 2 stroke dirtbikes, and now mostly run my can am commander 1000. I still have my Yamaha yz250 2 stroke and ride it occasionally, but most of my buddies stopped riding dirtbikes. I like the commander so much I’m starting to look at the turbo can am maverick x3....what a beast.
the xj has a 6” lift, 33s, and a warn m8000.
the commander has 30” tires, Fox air shocks, warn 4500lb winch and a few other odds and ends.
I really want a 125 two stroke. I'd have to drive three hours to have a good place to ride, but man do I love the sounds and smells and power delivery of two strokes. It's been a long time.

Nothing, and I mean nothing says "I am about to do some seriously stupid crap" like me kick-starting a 2-stroke.
I've been doing offroad TSDs and mud arena events in a Samurai (this one) for almost 10 years now, AMA.
I am slowly modding my disco to be a versatile vehicle. No big rocks down here in the southern end of New Jersey, but miles and miles of dirt and sandy fireroads that criss-cross the pine barrens Basically just setting her up to carry Kayaks and stuff to our inland rivers and lakes that are off of the beaten path.
Down here we don't go mudding. We go swamping.
" />Northern Michigan offroad rigs February 2014
" />youngsters riding Newschool. We need to drive 1 1/2 miles on unplowed road and 2 track to get to the cabin. In the hollows the snow can be headlight deep, chains make the run possible. After the trail is broken a 4X4 with snow tires can get in and out.

More of a "soft-roader" than off-roader. Where I go they are or were roads at one time. Just that some haven't been maintained for years.
I am not a big fan of "mudding" it messes up the underside of the truck and ruins the trails for others to follow. It's one of the excuses they use for trail closure around here
5 minutes of fun in the mud equals 5 years of E36 M3 falling in your eyes when you work on your rig.
I let my drunk girlfriend drive my Jeep through a tidal "puddle" on a beach in Tampa. With the windows down.
I still have nightmares about the smell in the interior after that incident

That hole is off to the side of the road/trail and was built by the county for the purpose I used it for. They cleared an area off and built a little "pond" that is dry most of the time. When it rains it can get up to 3' of water in it. It serves a kind of catch basin for the run off and the bottom is solid bed rock.
I don't have a canoe in a truck but how about a kayak on a Jeep?

Look at my avatar. That is my true vehicular love. 1986 CJ 7 with dana 44s, Detroit lockers, and a Warn 8274. Currently trying to buy a ZJ or XJ. Looking at another one tomorrow.
edit: oops. Forgot that my avatar is a memorial to one of our fallen comrades here.

Glad to hear that space in the garage won't last long!
I'm more of a 2 wheel off road guy myself. Started riding in the dirt about 5 years ago, and now race harescrambles regularly, compete in trials, and ride adventure bikes across the country whenever I get a chance. In fact, my love of 2 wheel off roading is the main reason why my GRM projects take as long as they do.
Pics of one of the bikes, just for fun:
I miss my rodeo occasionally, stock other then 4.30 gears and a rear locker. 31x10.50s and a 3.1/5 speed driveline. But its 2 hours too the nearest offroad park and 2hours too the dragstrip so i chose drag racing.

Not a hard core off-roader but I'll get the Xterra dirty now and then.
