Newt is clearly bright, and full of........um confidence, but his idea of opening up government land for drilling isn't a good idea in my book.
Oil is finite, I'd rather we focus on finding alternatives rather than having destroyed National Parks or recreation areas in 20 years. Where do you draw the line? Drill in the Grand Canyon? Yosemite? Rocky Mountain National Park?
I do like Ron Paul in the debates mostly for the comedic factor. He is the only one who consistently does what he says and says what he thinks, like him or not.
